With the Cape Fear Botanical Garden as a backdrop for tours and projects, spend four days starting seeds, collecting samples for projects, inspecting insects and amphibians eye-to-eye, and seeing how diverse our environment truly is. Come learn about plants and how we relate to each other in the environment! With the Cape Fear Botanical Garden as a backdrop for tours and projects, spend two days propagating your own plants, learning about the medicinal and edible use of wildflowers, and how animals coexist in the environment. Students will have projects to take home and enjoy growing with the skill they learn. NOTE: Please wear appropriate clothing for outdoor activities each day. All gardens contain scratchy plants and hungry insects. Long pants and sturdy shoes will protect legs and feet. No sandals or flip-flops, please! Sunscreen, insect repellent, hats, and water are all highly recommended.
